time can slow down

it's been a while... again...
i need to get back in the habit of updating.
time is just flashing before our eyes.
we got our family pictures taken.
it was so much fun!
especially since we had my brother take them for us.
he's extremely talented.
here are a few of my favorite shots:
last Tuesday we were able to attend the temple for the first time since Max was born. we dropped our little bundle off at Mike's parents house and went on to have a little dinner date and then off to the temple. it was just the time that i needed with my dear husband. and the perfect time away from our little one. i love going to the temple. there's a feeling there that's unlike anywhere else. and i hope to go there often and serve in the house of the Lord. Friday, Mike told me to not make any plans and that he was going to plan a date! i love when he takes charge :) we dropped off our sweet Max once again, this time at my parents house and went on with our evening. had a little dinner at panda express {one of our absolute favorites} and then off to see the Vow! i had been wanting to see it for quite a while now but it came out shortly after Max was born. so i was most definately home bound. it was such a fun evening with my hubby. he spoils me. i love him so much. {iabsolutelyadoreourlittlefamily}

Dear Max,

Dear Max,
Last night we had a bit of a rough time. I was frustrated, you were frustrated and i'm sure dad was a little frustrated too. As I woke up this morning, I realized why I was frustrated. And it's basically this... I want the best for you. I had always heard parents talk about this and now i understand! You are so precious to your dad and I. You bring us joy in ways that nothing else can. I always think to myself how I got so lucky to have two wonderful boys to spend my life with. Being your mom is such a privilege. It's super exciting when I come into your room when you wake up in the morning and when we make eye contact. The look that you give me is so heart warming, and then you follow by giving smiles and a few giggles. i love that you like to be held and cuddled. I know that this won't last forever but that's okay. Because I know that your Father in Heaven loves you and wants you to experience things in life. He wants the best for you too. Just like mom and dad. I love you my little man, keep being your sweet self (and growing cause your dad keeps talking about taking you camping and to your sports games).

there's sunshine in my soul.

wow. what a fun week/weekend full of excitement! the week started out with my best friend coming to visit from utah. she stayed at our house for several days while we had a blast hanging out with my little max. not to mention, tons of shopping, eating and sipping our favorite drink ;) i'm so glad we were able to spend some time together especially with her new adventure coming up... she received her mission call to Anchorage, Alaska! SO COOL. She's going to be an incredible missionary but she will be missed by the Harrison family.
Friday evening we spent celebrating my hubby's 25th birthday! I put together a little surprise "superhero" party. It was so much fun! We played games, and ate batman cupcakes. He got some fun gifts and was totally surprised. Saturday was a fun day too. {Mainly because Mike didn't do HW like he usually does!} We went to go see the Hunger Games with Mike's brother CJ and his friend, where we left Max for the first time with Grandpa Harrison. I enjoyed the movie very much but was super happy to get back to my little baby boy. I couldn't fully concentrate in the movie because i was hoping and praying that Max would be a good, happy boy!{which he was} :)
Sunday was a beautiful day. Max was blessed in church that day! He did sooo good. And Mike gave him such a great blessing. Right when he went up there I felt the spirit so strongly. I was full of gratitude towards my Father in Heaven who has blessed me with these 2 boys that I get to love and spend my life with. Such a neat experience.

Thank you to everyone who helped me out with Mike's party, and Max's blessing. Everything turned out so well and we are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.

seriously serious.

Blue eyes...what?!
LOOK at that face. I'm so in love. Max has been growing like crazy. I already feel the "it goes by fast" thing. I almost cried when he grew out of newborn diapers... seriously. He's getting so much more alert and interactive, we love it. One of my absolute favorite things is when I hear Max and his daddy in the other room talking to each other. He loves his dad. So so much. Last Saturday we went to Walmart to pick up some things here and there. As we were walking through the aisles Max was his alert self, when we would stop I would look at him and talk with him. He was making the biggest smiles EVER. I got like 8 smiles out of him! It was amazing.. all though i'm a little sad that this had to take place in Walmart. haha.

I love my handsome boys so much. The past 6 weeks have been one crazy ride but oh so wonderful. I'm so grateful to have them in my life. They're what make me smile every single day.

mornings lately..

In the morning around 6 am, we wake up to little noises that we're not used to hearing as of a little over a month ago. Our little guy is such a loud sleeper! I can't believe how noisy he is haha. But let me tell ya, it's the BEST noise to wake up to... not even exaggerating. I love this boy so much! Here's a little piece of what we enjoy:

p.s. not sure why you can't see him, even though the point is the noise ;)

it's a wonderful life.

being a mom is the best thing in the world. period. looking back at my pregnancy, that was hard. but don't get me wrong, it was totally worth it... just like they say. the moment Max was born, i had so many emotions. i was even a little scared of the responsibility that comes with being a mom. however, i'm mostly grateful for the opportunity that i have to have a healthy, sweet baby boy. a short 3 weeks ago, i was in the hospital bursting with excitement and not able to sleep because i just wanted to hold my baby all the time. i've always liked holding new babies, but there's something different about holding your very own. i totally don't mind waking up several times throughout the night to feed him. he's so precious. he's perfect. i don't ever want to take this time for granted. i want my little Max to be exactly that forever...little. but, we all know that that's not what's in store for him. he's on this earth for a special purpose, just like the rest of us. he needs to grow, and learn. no matter how much i don't want that to happen. i'm so grateful for Max and the special spirit that he brings into our home. he really is a child of god. we are seriously blessed.
