the first of many.

Wow.  I could not have asked for a better "1st mothers day".  But first, I must brag about my own mom.  She's my best friend.  We have so much fun together but most importantly, she's a great example.  She always has such a cheerful attitude that I wish to be like someday.  {I think it's easier for me to get all grumpy}.  She just doesn't seem to have that attribute. Lucky duck! Also, she's SO talented! She knows how to make anything pretty.  And I really mean anything.  Look below for the amazing arrangment she made for me.  My mother got ME a mother's day gift.  How sweet is that.  I love her so much and I'm so grateful for her and the huge role that she plays in my life.

Now, about my day.  We woke up bright and early to go to church.  Which, by the way, was awesome.  {I love being home by 11am}.  My dear husband made sure that Max was taken care of ALL DAY! {minus the breastfeeding} haha.  He made us lunch.  Delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup.  A family favorite.  Then I proceeded to craft and sew away.. baby FREE.  I did all of this while watching the Vow.  I love chick flicks. We all took a nap together as a family.  That was a wondrous occasion.  Afterwords, we headed off to my parents for a BBQ.  It was so much fun to be officially part of the "mom crew".  When we got home, my boys made me some cards.  The one from Max had tons of hand prints on it saying "why he loves his mommy".. my personal favorite is the one that says, "I love my mom because she washes me in the bathtub {even though i have a flat bum} hehe.  Then, my sexy hubs read me a very sweet love poem, where we both ended in happy tears.  I love my little family so much.  It was such a great day.  And I'm so lucky that I get to spend everyday with them.  They make me so incredibly happy.  Being a mom is definately not a walk in the park.  But it's JUST like everyone says.  It's so worth the hard work.

"We are living in a great season for all women in the Church. Sisters, you are an essential part of our Heavenly Father's plan for eternal happiness; you are endowed with a divine birthright. You are the real builders of nations wherever you live, because strong homes of love and peace will bring security to any nation." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf
