now here's an incredible story...

It was a Saturday afternoon, beautiful day around 4:30 pm.

My husband and I had just been at my parents house relaxing and enjoying a good weekend. Around this time we left my parents home we hopped in our seperate cars to begin the drive home. I was in front of him by about a half mile, while he was following behind back to our house. I got home before Mike, thinking that he would follow in shortly after. But he didn't. I began to get extremely worried thinking that he should be home by now and maybe he got into some trouble...

As Mike was driving down Val Vista, he caught eye of a car that was about 100 feet into a neighborhood. In this car, he realized there was a person in the driver seat. As he looked closer, he noticed little orange flames coming from underneath the car. By pulling out in front of other cars, he pulled into the neighborhood to do some further investigation. When he pulled over he realized that the driver was passed out and had no way of helping himself out. Mike ran to the nearest intersection and flagged a car down that had a mother and her son in the car. He motioned to have the mother call for help and motioned the boy to come and help him get this man out of the burning car. They boys then brought him out of the car, safely away from the scene. By this time, the car was fully engulfed by flames.

I finally got a hold of my husband after much worry, and he began to tell me what had happened. I admire all those who were around and quickly took action to remove this mans life from jeapordy. For whatever reason my husband looked over to the side of the road that day, no one really knows . This man could have easily lost his life that day. But he is now safe and here to remain on this earth.

Birthday Weekend :)

What a busy weekend we had!

Mike and I have been looking forward to this weekend for a while,

because our birthdays are 2 days apart.

This was actually the 2nd birthday we have spent together and it's been a blast.

Mikes birthday was on Friday, so that morning I woke up 20 minutes earlier for work to decorate the apt. Instead of using traditional birthday decorations, I covered the cabinets & doors with sticky notes saying some lovey birthday things:).

After work I ran to the dollar store to pick out a balloon and gummy bears (mikes favorite candy)... I put it in the truck for when he left work. I think it kinda spooked him a bit because of the tinted windows. haha. Once we were both home for the day we went to Joes BBQ. Yum. From there, we went to the mall and did a little shopping. Since we were in the area, of course we had to pick up the free one dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts they give out on your birthday!

Don't worry, we didn't eat the whole dozen...yet.

Later that night Mike went away on a "man-date" with his little bro to the Suns game while my dad and I went to Outback Steakhouse since he would be travelling on my birthday!

Saturday was just as busy..

we took my dad to the airport and then stayed at my parents for a while watching Bait Car.

We love that show.

That night we went to a beautiful wedding reception for Matt and Sarah!

After which we went to yet another restaurant (PF Changs) for my birthday dinner.

It was so much fun to spend all that time with my wonderful hubby & family.

We have much to be grateful for :)

a night in mayer

This is the only picture I got of this weekend, so bummed!
On Friday afternoon, my sister in-laws,mom and I went up to clean up the house that we were staying at in Mayer, AZ. While we were there early, we also decorated for Mike's birthday which is this next Friday, he's gonna be 24...so old ;)
That night we had a fire, and popped in a flick ("Get Smart").
The next morning while the boys were shooting, all the girls went to some local antique shops. We went to one where it had 13 rooms, however, the floors did not seem stable whatsoever. But there was some cool things to look at and some VERY old stuff. Haha. Later that afternoon we went on a ride to Crown King, 1 hour there and 1 hour back.
For any of you who have never been to Crown King, I highly recommend it.. it was such a cool town and would be a great camping spot. We got home very late, so Mike and I's date night consisted of cleaning my dads truck, unpacking and then off to bed..
We had such a great time with good company!

Mike had climbed this rope all the way to the top! ( He was one of the few who could do it ).
This was the ongoing challenge on the trip.

Startin off right

It's finally Spring Break!
Even though I'm only taking a few classes, with everything else going on this is a much needed break... We decided to go to Payson to spend the night in the woods, just me and him :)
The weather was abolutely perfect
Instead of freezing my booty off, I was taking of my sweater and socks throughout the night, my husband was proud! It was so much fun relaxing around the campfire and sleeping under the stars in our truck! We love the outdoors!

Right when we got there, we had to take a picture... we need to start taking more pictures cause we are really bad at doing that.
Our fire looks kinda lame but I promise, it wasn't!
We found snow on our afternoon walk.

Roasting our hot dogs for lunch :)

beyond life

Life is so precious.

This week something happened where I have earned a deep appreciation for the knowledge of the gospel. Wednesday morning I walked into work to distraught co-workers.
Shortly after my arrival, I was told of something that happened the previous night at the gym...

It was 6pm and everyone was on their normal nightly ritual, for some it was to work and others to work out. No one expected what was about to happen.
A man in his early 40's was stretching in front of a machine when suddenly, he collapsed.
Immediately, people gathered around shouting for help.
While people were surrounding this man, curious to what just happened.. they realized that he wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse. As everyone was waiting for the paramedics, the operator on 911 was aiding in any help that they could give him.
Paramedics arrived shortly and they rapidly began trying to resuscitate him.
However, in their minds trying to do so was hopeless.
This husband, father & friend had passed away before he reached the ground.
He suffered from a brain aneurysm.
Within a instant, a life was lost.

This experience has made me realize the importance of life.
You always hear "live as if today was your last", & "live your life to the fullest". But do we truly take that to heart? Life can be gone in an instant. And I believe that. So I want to challenge myself to live the best way that I can. I'm so grateful for the knowledge that I have that there is life after death, and I hope and pray that his family has that same knowledge.
Someday, I will be able to return to my Father in Heaven.
His arms extended out to me, I can say that I had made mistakes but lived with trying my hardest to do the things that I know are right.

"It is necessary to prepare, to plan, so that we don't fritter away our lives. Without a goal, there can be no real success. The best definition of success I have ever found goes something like this: Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Someone has said the trouble with not having a goal is that you spend your life running up
and down the field and never crossing the goal line." -President Thomas S. Monson

Mom & Dad for the Weekend.

First of all: let me clarify, the baby pic thats on here is not our baby. It's one of the little boys that I nanny. Haha Now that that's taken care of...
This weekend has been quite the adventure.
It's my parents anniversary today and to celebrate, they took off for the weekend to Cali.
With the help of Mike and my brother Brock, we took the task of taking care of my younger siblings.
My parents left Saturday morning, so we all hung out at my parents house all afternoon as well as run a few errands. That night, we made homemade pizza and just spent good quality time together. That night Tanner and Nicole wanted to stay the night at Mike and I's apartment.
It was so fun to have our first guests, we played "Go Fish" and laughed tons (mostly because we were so stinkin' tired!). The next morning we had decided to go to my parents ward which was at 1230, so we were able to sleep in (as much as the kids would allow us). Next thing we know, there are 4 people in our bed, just giggling and talking. We went to church and came home to some yummy Potato Cream Cheese Soup.
Today will be just another crazy day, kids come home from school and sports practices left and right. This weekend sure made me appreciate all that my parents do for us. It also got me super excited to be a parent, especially with Mike:)
Happy 24th Anniversary Mom & Dad!

We didn't quite get a picture altogether this weekend, so I found this one for your enjoyment.

our crazy life

another month come and gone..
we have been keeping super busy, BUT we are not complaining!
Mike has been working full time while teaching piano on the side. I have been working part time, nannying part time and school part time.
Lets just say after a long long week, we look forward to eventful date weekends with eachother and family. I'm so grateful for all the many oppurtunities that have been given to my husband and I. We are possibly the happiest married couple ever.
